I just picked up Founders at Work: Stories of Startups' Early Days by Jessica Livingston. Two people whose websites I am an avid reader of (Paul Graham and Joel Spolsky) are advertising this book quite heavily. I had read the sample chapters that are available online and simply could not resist picking up the book.
I have read two chapters so far: the interviews with RIM founder Mike Lazaridis and 37 Signals partner and Ruby on Rails creator David Heinemeier Hansson. I am impressed. I am about to officially venture out on my own again within the next few days. This book has a great deal of insight from which I can learn. More importantly, it also has a lot of inspiration for those rough spots in the road.
